JSPL Angul is equipped with India's first 'one of a kind' state-of-the-art Plate mill that produces plates of 5 meters width. JSPL epitomizes its performance-oriented service by producing plates ranging from 5-150 mm in thickness & widths of 1500 -5000 mm .The total production capacity of the plant is 1.5 million tonnes per annum. Thickness - 5mm - 150mm Width - 900mm - 5000mm Length - 3000mm - 24000mm Weight - 30 MT ( Max) Angul Plate mill is equipped with walking beam type reheating furnace. The slabs are re-heated to a very high temperature of 1,250 degrees Celsius and then rolled in a 4 hi-reversing type Finishing Mill. High pressure descalers are provided at the entry and exit points of the 4 Hi-Finishing Mill to ensure excellent surface quality and an automated level 2 width and thickness controlling system coupled with heavy Hot leveler to assure close dimensional tolerances and an increased level of flatness control. The Hot Rolled & leveled plates goes through the shear line and gets processed to suit the customer requirements of Plate Sizes. JSPL Angul plate Mill is also equipped with Heat treatment complex facility to cater niche customers. The hot Rolled plates can be supplied in Normalized, Quenched and Tempered condition as per product applications. Impact testing machines and hardness testers - Zwick Roell Germany Plate Mill Products has a wide range of Applications and JSPL has already started catering to Line Pipe Grades, heavy Engineering, Wind tower Applications, Pressure Vessels and structural Grade steel. JSPL 5.0 Meter Wide Plate Mill adheres to stringent international standards and the steel grades are manufactured under various specifications like IS, EN, DNV, BS, ASTM, JIS standards. Initiating mass production from August 2012, Plate mill has acquired ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 certifications for Quality Management systems. It has also been awarded with IS 2062 - E250, E350, E450 and IS 2002 Gr I,II.III Specifications for manufacturing and Supply of hot Rolled Steel Plates. JSPL Plate Mill also received CE Certification for fulfilling Export orders in and Out of Europe and also to substitute the import orders. Other certifications which are in pipeline include LRS, ABS, DNV, GL & NK for servicing the requirements of the shipbuilding industry and Q1 certification from API agency.
